More to Come-Out?

Jason Collins Comes Out: NBA Player Becomes First Openly Gay Professional Male Athlete In Major Sport

This is not a logo we created here at The Brian Craig Show...it was on Huffington Post.

NBA center Jason Collins has become the first male athlete in a major professional sport to come out as gay.
The 34-year-old, a free agent who has played with the Washington Wizards and the Boston Celtics this past season, tells Sports Illustrated:
"I didn't set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I'm happy to start the conversation. I wish I wasn't the kid in the classroom raising his hand and saying, 'I'm different.' If I had my way, someone else would have already done this. Nobody has, which is why I'm raising my hand."
Collins continues, "When I was younger I dated women. I even got engaged. I thought I had to live a certain way. I thought I needed to marry a woman and raise kids with her. I kept telling myself the sky was red, but I always knew it was blue."
As to why he opted to address his sexuality now, Collins says that he was partly inspired by the Boston Marathon bombings, adding that "it takes an enormous amount of energy to guard such a big secret."
"I've endured years of misery and gone to enormous lengths to live a lie. I was certain that my world would fall apart if anyone knew," he writes. "And yet when I acknowledged my sexuality I felt whole for the first time. I still had the same sense of humor, I still had the same mannerisms and my friends still had my back."
You can read Collins' full Sports Illustrated editorial here.
NBA commissioner David Stern applauded Collins in a statement cited by ESPN, noting, "Jason has been a widely respected player and teammate throughout his career and we are proud he has assumed the leadership mantle on this very important issue." Washington Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld felt similarly, calling Collins "a leader on and off the court and an outstanding teammate throughout his NBA career" in a statement.
GLAAD's Aaron McQuade echoed those sentiments, calling Collins a "new hero" for young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) athletes in an email statement. "'Courage' and 'inspiration' are words that get thrown around a lot in sports, but Jason Collins has given both ideas a brand new context," McQuade said. "We hope that his future team will welcome him, and that fans of the NBA and sports in general will applaud him."

A Family of Terrorists and No One Did Anything...

BOSTON (AP) — With the Boston marathon bombing suspect in a prison hospital, investigators are pushing forward both in the U.S. and abroad to piece together the myriad details of a plot that killed three people and injured more than 260. FBI agents picked through a landfill near the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where 19-year-old suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, was a sophomore. FBI spokesman Jim Martin would not say what investigators were looking for. A federal law enforcement official not authorized to speak on the record about the investigation told The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity on Friday that the FBI was gathering evidence regarding "everything imaginable." Meanwhile, U.S. officials said the bombing suspects' mother had been added to a federal terrorism database about 18 months before the April 15 attack — a disclosure that deepens the mystery around the Tsarnaev family and marks the first time American authorities have acknowledged that Zubeidat Tsarnaeva was under investigation before the tragedy. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is charged with joining with his older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, now dead, in setting off the shrapnel-packed pressure-cooker bombs. The brothers are ethnic Chechens from Russia who came to the United States about a decade ago with their parents. Investigators have said it appears the brothers were angry about the U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Two government officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the investigation, said the CIA had Zubeidat Tsarnaeva's name added to the terror database along with that of her son Tamerlan after Russia contacted the agency in 2011 with concerns that the two were religious militants. About six months earlier, the FBI investigated mother and son, also at Russia's request, one of the officials said. The FBI found no ties to terrorism. Previously U.S. officials had said only that the FBI investigated Tamerlan Tsarnaev. In an interview from Russia, Tsarnaeva said Friday that she has never been linked to terrorism. "It's all lies and hypocrisy," she said from Dagestan. "I'm sick and tired of all this nonsense that they make up about me and my children. People know me as a regular person, and I've never been mixed up in any criminal intentions, especially any linked to terrorism." Tsarnaeva faces shoplifting charges in the U.S. over the theft of more than $1,624 worth of women's clothing from a Lord & Taylor department store in Natick in 2012. Earlier this week, she said she has been assured by lawyers that she would not be arrested if she traveled to the U.S., but she said she was still deciding whether to go. The suspects' father, Anzor Tsarnaev, said that he would leave Russia soon for the United States to visit one son and lay the other to rest. A team of investigators from the U.S. Embassy in Moscow questioned both parents in Russia this week. Late this week, Dzhohkar Tsarnaev was taken from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he was recovering from a throat wound and other injuries suffered during an attempt to elude police, and was transferred to the Federal Medical Center Devens, about 40 miles from Boston, the U.S. Marshals Service said. The facility, at a former Army base, treats federal prisoners. "It's where he should be; he doesn't need to be here anymore," said Beth Israel patient Linda Zamansky, who thought his absence could reduce stress on bombing victims who have been recovering at the hospital under tight security. Two college buddies of his — Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev — have been interviewed at length, twice, by FBI agents and have cooperated fully, said Kadyrbayev's lawyer, Robert Stahl, a former federal prosecutor. They were detained April 20 after being questioned in connection with the attacks, but are not suspects, Stahl said. They are being detained at a county jail in Boston for violating their student visas by not regularly attending classes, he said. The two, both students from Kazakhstan, had nothing to do with the attack and had seen no hints that their friend harbored any violent or terrorist sympathies, Stahl said. Meanwhile, New York's police commissioner said the FBI was too slow to inform the city that the Boston Marathon suspects had been planning to bomb Times Square days after the attack at the race. Federal investigators learned about the short-lived scheme from a hospitalized Dzhokhar Tsarnaev during a bedside interrogation that began Sunday night and extended into Monday morning, officials said. The information didn't reach the New York Police Department until Wednesday night. "We did express our concerns over the lag," said police Commissioner Raymond Kelly. The FBI had no comment Friday.

Palin attacks Planned Parenthood and Obama on Facebook

Hours after President Barack Obama vowed to defend Planned Parenthood at the organization's national conference on Friday, Sarah Palin wrote a lengthy missive on Facebook, tying the family planning organization to Dr. Kermit Gosnell, a provider of illegal abortions who is on trial for murder. "Considering the role Planned Parenthood has played in looking the other way while the mass murdering abortion doctor Gosnell butchered babies born alive from his horrific infanticide procedures and abused his women patients, it’s perhaps not surprising that this same president sees nothing wrong with allowing his name to be so openly associated with this organization," the former Alaska governor and ex-vice presidential candidate wrote on her Facebook page. Gosnell, 72, ran an abortion clinic in Pennsylvania where he performed gruesome and illegal late-term abortions that endangered, and in some cases ended, the lives his patients. He faces four charges of first-degree murder and one of third-degree murder. He faces the death penalty if convicted. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Dayle Steinberg, president and chief executive of Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania, said at a gathering for her organization last week that some women came to Planned Parenthood after visiting Gosnell's clinic and complained. "We would always encourage them to report it to the Department of Health," Steinberg said. She added, "These are criminal, horrendous ... acts and should be appropriately punished." Conservative anti-abortion groups, including the Susan B. Anthony List, have used the Gosnell trial to boost support for abortion restrictions and charge that Planned Parenthood should be held accountable for failing to report the conditions at Gosnell's clinic. "Planned Parenthood last week admitted to knowing about the conditions inside Kermit Gosnell’s Philadelphia clinic yet chose not to act to help end the killing of newborn babies and butchering of women," Susan B. Anthony List president Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement on Friday. "It seems that nothing – not even eyewitness accounts of Gosnell-style conditions in their own clinics – is enough to make President Obama reconsider his unyielding support for Planned Parenthood, which in a single year performed more than 333,000 abortions and received half a billion dollars in taxpayer money." Planned Parenthood receives federal grants through the Title X family planning program, which it uses to subsidize contraception, cancer screenings, sexually transmitted infection screenings and other health services for low-income women. Planned Parenthood patients pay separately for abortion services, because the Hyde Amendment prohibits using federal funds to pay for abortions.

Peggy Noonan is so eloquent :)

Barack Obama was elected president in 2008 because he was not George W. Bush. In fact, he was elected because he was the farthest thing possible from Mr. Bush. On some level he knew this, which is why every time he got in trouble he'd say Bush's name. It's all his fault, you have no idea the mess I inherited. As long as Mr. Bush's memory was hovering like Boo Radley in the shadows, Mr. Obama would be OK. In an excerpt from a longer interview, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush is asked by Peter Robinson of the Hoover Institution whether he plans to run for president in 2016. "Uncommon Knowledge" is produced by the Hoover Institution for WSJ Live. This week something changed. George W. Bush is back, for the unveiling of his presidential library. His numbers are dramatically up. You know why? Because he's the farthest thing from Barack Obama. Obama fatigue has opened the way to Bush affection. In all his recent interviews Mr. Bush has been modest, humorous, proud but unassuming, and essentially philosophical: History will decide. No finger-pointing or scoring points. If he feels rancor or resentment he didn't show it. He didn't attempt to manipulate. His sheer normality seemed like a relief, an echo of an older age. And all this felt like an antidote to Obama—to the imperious I, to the inability to execute, to the endless interviews and the imperturbable drone, to the sense that he is trying to teach us, like an Ivy League instructor taken aback by the backwardness of his students. And there's the unconscious superiority. One thing Mr. Bush didn't think he was was superior. He thought he was luckily born, quick but not deep, and he famously trusted his gut but also his heart. He always seemed moved and grateful to be in the White House. Someone who met with Mr. Obama during his first year in office, an old hand who'd worked with many presidents, came away worried and confounded. Mr. Obama, he said, was the only one who didn't seem awed by his surroundings, or by the presidency itself.

Dropped the ball..again...Obama turning a blind eye...again...

WASHINGTON -- Russian authorities alerted the US government not once but ``multiple’’ times over their concerns about Tamerlan Tsarnaev -- including a second time nearly a year after he was first interviewed by FBI agents in Boston -- raising new questions about whether the FBI should have focused more attention on the suspected Boston Marathon bomber, according to US senators briefed on the probe Tuesday. The FBI has previously said it interviewed Tsarnaev in early 2011 after it was initially contacted by the Russians. After that review, the FBI has said, it determined he did not pose a threat. In a closed briefing on Tuesday, members of the Senate Intelligence Committee learned that Russia alerted the United States about Tsarnaev in ``multiple contacts’’ -- including ``at least once since October 2011,’’ said Richard Burr, a Republican of North Carolina, speaking with reporters afterward. Senators said the briefing also revealed failures among federal agencies to share vital information about Tsarnaev, indicating, they said, that the US government still has not established a strong system to ``connect the dots’’ about would-be terrorists residing in America more than a decade after 9/11. Senator Susan Collins, a Maine Republican and member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, praised law enforcement authorities for quickly producing videos of the suspects and putting a halt to their violent spree Thursday night and Friday. “But I’m very concerned that there still seem to be serious problems with the sharing of information, including critical investigative information,’’ she said after emerging from the closed-door committee briefing. ``That is troubling to me, this many years after the attacks on our country in 2001, that we still seem to have stovepipes that prevent information from being shared effectively, not only among agencies but also with the same agency in one case.”

Did they get the wrong guy? Does this administration know what they are doing?

TUPELO, Miss. — Charges of sending ricin-laced letters to President Barack Obama and others were dropped Tuesday against an Elvis impersonator from Mississippi who has said since his arrest last week that he had nothing to do with the case. Meanwhile, in Tupelo, numerous law enforcement officers converged on the home of another Mississippi man, Everett Dutschke, including some in hazmat suits. No charges have been filed against him and he hasn't been arrested. Both men say they have no idea how to make the poisonous ricin and had nothing to do with sending them to Obama, U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker of Mississippi and a state judge. Referring to officials' questions for him about the case, "I thought they said rice and I said I don't even eat rice," 45-year-old Paul Kevin Curtis said after he was released from custody Tuesday afternoon. "I respect President Obama. I love my country and would never do anything to pose a threat to him or any other U.S. official." A one-sentence document filed by federal prosecutors said charges against Curtis were dropped, but left open the possibility they could be re-instated if authorities found more to prove their case. Prosecutors were not immediately available for comment. The dismissal is the latest twist in a case that rattled the country already on edge over the Boston Marathon bombing last week.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, Boston Bombing Suspect, Listed On Classified Government Watch List...Obama's America.

The name of one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, was listed on the U.S. government's highly classified central database of people it views as potential terrorists. But the list is so vast that this did not mean authorities automatically kept close tabs on him, sources close to the bombing investigation said on Tuesday. Tsarnaev, 26, was killed in a police shootout early Friday, while his younger brother Dzhokhar, 19, was captured later that day. Prosecutors say the brothers, ethnic Chechens who had been living in the United States for more than a decade, planted two bombs that exploded near the finish line of the marathon on April 15, killing three people and wounding more than 200. The sources said Tamerlan Tsarnaev's details were entered into TIDE, a database maintained by the National Counterterrorism Center, because the FBI spoke to him in 2011 while investigating a Russian tip-off that he had become a follower of radical Islamists.

Tax-payer funded terrorism

Marathon bombings mastermind Tamerlan Tsarnaev was living on taxpayer-funded state welfare benefits even as he was delving deep into the world of radical anti-American Islamism, the Herald has learned. State officials confirmed last night that Tsarnaev, slain in a raging gun battle with police last Friday, was receiving benefits along with his wife, Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, and their 3-year-old daughter. The state’s Executive Office of Health and Human Services said those benefits ended in 2012 when the couple stopped meeting income eligibility limits. Russell Tsarnaev’s attorney has claimed Katherine — who had converted to Islam — was working up to 80 hours a week as a home health aide while Tsarnaev stayed at home. In addition, both of Tsarnaev’s parents received benefits, and accused brother bombers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan were recipients through their parents when they were younger, according to the state.

Marketplace Fairness Act...nice name...BAD idea!

Some ideas are just bad timing, and some ideas are just plain bad. The Internet sales-tax legislation being rushed to the Senate floor, the so-called Marketplace Fairness Act, has the dubious distinction of being both. Right now, businesses collect sales tax in states where they have a physical presence. That makes sense: if you are a retailer in Texas, you collect taxes there. But under this legislation, that same Texas business would be forced to pay sales tax to 45 other state tax authorities across the country. Supporters claim this isn’t a new tax. Please tell those hundreds of thousands of businesses, many of them small with part-time accountants, that would start filing taxes with 46 different states that this isn’t a new tax burden. (Four states have no sales tax.) They’ll laugh in your face and then cry in their hands. Why this is bad timing? Those businesses have been pummeled by the worst economy since the Great Depression. Now, as they are only gradually getting back on their feet, Congress is poised to impose new burdens on them. Do we really want state tax collectors from New York demanding payments and audits from a business in Nebraska? Under this proposal, state tax bureaucrats will be able to go after businesses across the country to audit them for payment of taxes plus penalties and interest. Americans don’t buy into this plan. By a 2-to-1 margin, likely voters in a recent Zogby Analytics poll said shifting this tax-collecting responsibility to businesses would be burdensome on companies. Yet the Senate is rushing forward with this plan having completely skipped the committee process, where tough questions may have been asked perhaps including some from Sen. Max Baucus, Montana Democrat and chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, who has warned that business would have to keep track of “thousands” of different tax codes to do online business and that the new tax scheme is “unprecedented.”

Even a broken clock is right twice a day!

Fox News liberal Bob Beckel had some policy ideas about Muslims on Tuesday's edition of "The Five." Beckel and his co-hosts were talking about the Boston bombing suspects, who are Muslim. The general consensus seemed to be that, by probing into their lives and their possible motives for the attacks, members of the media were avoiding the main issue. "You find the big argument, which is Muslim supremacy, isn't that all you need?" Greg Gutfeld asked. "Why do you have to delve into their psychosis?" "We know that In the Muslim communities around the world, they do not like us," Beckel replied. "They recruit people from poor areas and turn them into terrorists." He didn't say how this thesis was connected to the Tsarnaev brothers, who came legally with their family when they were 9 and 16. "I think we really have to consider...that we're going to have to cut off Muslim students from coming to this country for some period of time so that we can at least absorb what we've got, look at what we've got and decide whether some of the people here should be sent back home or sent to prison," he continued. At the end of the show, Beckel issued a clarification of sorts, explaining that, perhaps, young Muslims currently in the US could stay, but that new restrictions should definitely be considered, along with restrictions on Chinese students--who, he said, are sent to America only so that they can learn computers, go back home and "hack us."

Bomber's father threatens US...

The father of suspected Boston Marathon bomber called on his son today to give up peacefully, but warned the U.S. that if his son is killed "all hell will break loose."
Anzor Tsarnaev spoke to ABC News from his home in the Russian city of Makhachkala as Boston police carried out an intense dragnet for his son Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, survived a running gun battle with police during the night that left an MIT security officer dead and a Boston cop badly wounded. His older brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, died in the shootout.
The father said he spoke to his sons by phone earlier this week. "We talked about the bombing. I was worried about then," Anzor Tsarnaev said.
He said his sons reassured him, saying, "Everything is good, Daddy. Everything is very good."
The elder Tsarnaev insisted that his sons were innocent, but said he would appeal to his son to "surrender peacefully."
"Give up. Give up. You have a bright future ahead of you. Come home to Russia," the dad said.
The father warned, however, "If they killed him, then all hell would break loose."
"If they kill my second child, I will know that it is an inside job, a hit job. The police are to blame," the father told ABC News. "Someone, some organization is out to get them."
The father said his two daughters, ages 22 and 24, live in New York.

Dead Suspect's Own words...

Tamerlan says he could be selected for the US Olympic team and be naturalized American.

Tamerlan fled Chechnya with his family because of the conflict in the early 90s, and lived for years in Kazakhstan before getting to the United States as a refugee.

Tamerlan says he loves the movie "Borat," even though some of the jokes are a bit too much.

Tamerlan says he doesn't usually take his shirt off so girls don't get bad ideas: "I'm very religious."

Tamerlan says he doesn't drink or smoke anymore: "God said no alcohol." A muslim, he says: "There are no values anymore," and worries that "people can't control themselves."

Tamerlab says his girlfriend is half Portuguese, half Italian girlfriend and converted to Islam: "She's beautiful, man!"

A native of Chechnya, Tamerlan says: "In Russia, we used to train like this. Here nobody does it, I don't know why!"

Bomber #2 contacts "friend" through Twitter...HSN tells, "Call FBI!"

While watching HSN just now, a young man called in saying Bomber #2 contacted him through Twitter...HSN anchor told him, "Call FBI" and they gave him the number on the air...crime in this modern age of social media...its a weird thing...

And the libs don't think we need guns in our homes...as they search home to home for the second terrorist in the Boston area...

At daybreak, law enforcement planned to launch a house-to house search through much of Watertown as they sought one half of the duo believed to have killed three and wounded more than 170 at the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday. A chaotic Thursday night across Cambridge and Watertown started at 10:30 p.m. with a convenience store holdup that led to the shooting of an MIT campus officer who died later from multiple gunshot wounds. Police sped away from the campus crime scene amid reports of an armed carjacking of a Mercedes SUV nearby. The breakneck pursuit of the stolen car led to Watertown, where suspects detonated explosives in the direction of officers before exchanging gunfire. “I heard three loud bangs,” a witness told HuffPost. “It sounded like a car being dropped on the ground.” The threat to anyone in the area was so serious that the police planned robocalls to warn residents, CNN reported. Hundreds of officers drawn from many departments spent hours looking for additional explosives, criminal evidence and, perhaps most importantly, a man deemed to be armed and dangerous. One suspect died in the exchange of gunfire with police in Watertown. Neither suspects' identity was released. The long night followed a day in which the FBI released video footage and photos of the baseball cap-wearing pair seen carrying suspicious backpacks which they dropped at the Boylston Street finish line.

Could it be?

George W. Bush Hopes Jeb Bush Will Run In 2016... Former President George W. Bush told Parade Magazine in an interview published Friday that he hopes his brother, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, will run for president in 2016. When asked if the country is ready for another Bush, he said, "That’s for Jeb to figure out, you know what I mean? I would hope that people would judge [him], if Jeb were to run, on his merits and his track record.…So I hope he will run." The former Florida governor has not made a decision about the race in 2016, but he said in March that there is no "baggage" from his brother's two terms as president and low popularity. Jeb Bush's own favorable rating is only 30 percent among general election voters, according to a recent Public Policy Polling survey. He sounded optimistic about the Republican Party, however, saying that he did not believe it was "doomed forever." In 2016, he said, "the party ought to nominate somebody who can stand by principles and explain why conservative principles are better for the vast majority of the citizens."

Kim Lene Williams, Wife Of Ex-Judge, Arrested In Kaufman County District Attorney Murder Case

KAUFMAN, Texas — In a surprising twist, the wife of a jailed former justice of the peace was charged Wednesday with capital murder after authorities say she confessed to helping her husband kill two North Texas prosecutors who aggressively secured a theft conviction against him. The overnight arrest and charge against Kim Lene Williams is the latest turn in an investigation that had recently focused on Eric Williams after authorities searched his home and a nearby storage facility stocked with guns. An arrest affidavit alleges she told investigators Tuesday that her husband shot and killed Kaufman County assistant prosecutor Mark Hasse in January and District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife last month. The affidavit does not specify what role she played in the killings. Investigators said they would not release further details until briefing the victims' families. Eric Williams, 46, who has not yet been charged in the slayings, remained jailed on a $3 million bond Wednesday on a charge of making a terroristic threat. Kim Williams, 46, was being held on a $10 million bond. "I don't think anyone could have written a novel that would play out like this," said Kaufman County Judge Bruce Wood. He said county employees were relieved the case was moving forward but also were shocked by the recent developments.

Boston Update...will another terrorist go free under Obama?

BOSTON -- False hope that a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings had been arrested dominated news reports for much of Wednesday, two days after explosions rocked the elite road race, killing three people and injuring more than 170. But in the end, reports of an arrest published by CNN and The Associated Press, as well as other media, were categorically denied by the FBI. "We have not officially named anyone and we don't know where they're getting that information," an FBI spokeswoman told HuffPost. The confusion came amid reports that investigators are on the hunt for a man seen in a department-store surveillance video dropping off a bag at the site of the bombings. Confusion ruled the afternoon in other ways. Media and spectators descended on the federal courthouse, hoping to catch a glimpse of the mythical suspect. But soon after the crowds showed up, a bomb scare at the John Joseph Moakley Federal Courthouse sent them scurrying. The appropriate opportunity to sort out some of the wild and unverified information would have been at an evening press conference with the FBI, but it was postponed.

Another Benghazi?

Authorities investigating the bombings at the Boston Marathon warned on Tuesday not to expect immediate answers about who was behind the explosions that ripped apart the race's finish line Monday afternoon. Even as the public poured in tips -- more than 2,000 by noon on Tuesday -- and the FBI vowed to "go to the ends of the Earth," in its search, authorities speaking at an evening press conference in Boston did not announce any major break in the case. "The investigation is in its infancy," said Richard DesLauriers, the FBI's special agent in charge. "We are doing this methodically ... yet with a sense of urgency."

Saudi Man Interrogated After Marathon...

Police took a 20-year-old Saudi national into custody near the scene of yesterday’s horrific Boston Marathon bomb attack, law-enforcement sources told The Post.
The potential suspect was questioned by the FBI and local police yesterday at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he was under heavy guard while being treated for shrapnel injuries to his leg sustained in the blast.
In late afternoon, a large group of federal and state law enforcement agents raided an apartment in a building in the Saudi man’s hometown of Revere, Mass.
FBI agents could be seen through one window. It was not clear what, if anything, they found. But Revere fire officials said they were called out to support bomb-squad officers as part of an investigation of a “person of interest” in the marathon attack.
At the hospital, investigators seized the man’s clothes to examine whether they held any evidence that he was behind the attack. The law-enforcement sources also told The Post that the man was not free to leave the medical center.
He had suffered shrapnel wounds to the back of a leg but was not likely to die, a source said.
As of last night, investigators had not yet directly asked the man whether he had set off the bombs. But they had asked him general questions, such as what he was doing in the area.
The potential suspect told police he had dinner Sunday night near Boston’s Prudential Center, about half a mile from the blast site, the sources said.
He also said that he went to the Copley Square area yesterday to witness the finish of the race.
The sources said that, after the man was grabbed by police, he smelled of gunpowder and declared, “I thought there would be a second bomb.”
He also asked: “Did anyone die?”
Officials showed up at the Revere apartment at about 5:30 p.m. in unmarked vehicles, a resident of the building said. It’s on a street where the man had lived, law-enforcement sources told The Post.
About an hour later, more vehicles, carrying agents of the FBI, Homeland Security and ATF also descended on the site, along with firefighters and a bomb squad. They searched an apartment on the fifth floor.
By midnight, most of the authorities had left the complex, which sits on a piece of ocean-front property in the seaside city.
Investigators were looking for anything that might have been used set to off the devices, including a remote control.
According to a report by CBS News, the man was initially tackled by a bystander while running from the scene of the explosions.
The bystander told police he grabbed the Saudi because he thought he was acting suspiciously.

Who was the mysterious man on the rooftops right above the explosions as they went off? People all over the internet and social media are speculating on this one.

Jodi Arias Prosecutor Wants Jailhouse Tweets To Stop

The prosecutor in the Jodi Arias murder trial Monday told the judge he is aware a Twitter account attributed to Arias has been tweeting about the trial and his height -- and he wants it to stop. "There's been allegations that she's been tweeting ... I've been told she indicates something about the prosecutor and how tall he is," prosecutor Juan Martinez said in court Monday. "One can't forget that she's a witness in this case and she's actually violating the courts rule by discussing her testimony ... I'm asking the court to issue an order that she desist from that," said Martinez. The tweet about the prosecutor's height is no longer on the Twitter page attributed to Arias. The tweet read, "Those afflicted with Little Man's Syndrome taint society's perception of genuinely good men who happen to be vertically challenged." Arias' defense attorney, Kirk Nurmi, told the judge, "This isn't second grade, this is a court of law." Nurmi added, "Regardless of Ms. Arias' Twitter account and comments on his height ... it does not change the game ... She has freedom of speech rights."

Saudi National Bomb Suspect Caught!...Sorry not a Teapartier...let's pray for the victims please.

Investigators have a suspect — a Saudi Arabian national — in the horrific Boston Marathon bombings, The Post has learned. Law enforcement sources said the 20-year-old suspect was under guard at an undisclosed Boston hospital. It was not immediately clear why the man was hospitalized and whether he was injured in the attack or in his apprehension. The man was caught less than two hours after the 2:50 p.m. bombing on the finish line of the race, in the heart of Boston. 12 DEAD, 50 INJURED AFTER 2 EXPLOSIONS ROCK BOSTON MARATHON NY AUTHORITIES RAMP UP SECURITY AFTER BOSTON EXPLOSIONS PHOTOS: EXPLOSIONS ROCK BOSTON MARATHON In addition, Boston police have has surveillance video of someone bringing multiple backpacks to blast site, according to CBS News. Police also confirmed that there was a third explosion, at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. It was not immediately clear how much damage was done or whether it was related to the bombings at the marathon finish line. The library bombing occurred about 4:30 p.m. and more than a mile from the marathon. A law enforcement source confirmed to The Post that 12 people were killed and nearly 50 were injured in today's blast.

Hollywood Film Producer not happy with Jay-Z...

An Open Letter to Jay-Z Dear Mr. Z, I just heard your new track, “Open Letter,” released today. It’s got everything I love about your music: looping internal rhymes, an infectious beat, and imagery that draws me into a kind of swaggering, defiant fantasy. Speaking of defiant fantasies, I’ve been following news of your recent trip to the island nation of Cuba. As the son of a Cuban refugee, and cousin and nephew to many Cubans on the island, I cringe when Americans visit Cuba for a fun island vacation. For one thing it’s illegal (which nobody seems to care about), but more importantly, it's either ignorant of or calloused to the struggles of Cubans on the island. I actually encourage my friends to travel to Cuba, to bear witness to one of the great tragedies of our time, to learn about the real Cuba, to put a human face on the caricature of Americans that the Castros propagate. Exchange and travel between our two nations should be a catalyst for change, as it has been even in my own family. But for me, Cuba is not the place to have a fun, sexy, vacation. Because for Cubans on the island and living elsewhere, it’s not. So when I heard of your visit, I thought to myself, Jay Z seems like a smart, thoughtful guy. He doesn't realize what he's walking into. He probably just thinks Cuba is a chic place to relax with the family. He probably just doesn’t know the things I know. He likely doesn’t know that the Cuban tourism industry is run by the Cuban military, so when he spends money at an officially sanctioned hotel, or restaurant, he is directly funding the oppressors of the Cuban people. He doesn’t know that most Cubans have poor access to independent news sources, the internet, books, and food. He doesn’t know that Cuba has two health systems, one for the well-connected, and one for everyone else. He doesn’t know that before Castro, the Cuban peso traded one-to-one with the dollar, and that since then, the Castros have raided the nation’s coffers and introduced widespread poverty to a once prosperous nation. He doesn’t know that my ancestors fought to free Cuba from Spain, and to set up a democracy to ensure that they would always be free. He doesn’t know that in spite of those dreams, my mother and her family fled for their lives from this regime way back in 1960, as did *two million* other Cubans. He doesn’t know about the thousands of people executed by firing squads led by sexy t-shirt icon Che Guevara. He doesn’t know about the dissidents, artists, and librarians that currently rot in Cuba’s prisons, and the thousands more who live in fear. He doesn’t know about Orlando Zapata Tamayo, an Afro-Cuban dissident who died in a Cuban prison in 2010 after an 80-day hunger strike. He doesn’t know that a U.S. Citizen, Alan Gross, is currently serving a 15-year sentence in a Cuban prison for providing phones and computers to the members of the Cuban Jewish community. He doesn't know that all attempts by our government and private citizens to secure his release have been scoffed at. He has likely forgotten about all those who have died in the Florida Straits, trying to float on makeshift boats to freedom. He doesn’t know that contrary to popular understanding, Amnesty International reports that repression of dissidents in Cuba is actually on the rise. He doesn’t know that when an international music luminary shows up in Cuba, his presence is unwittingly used as propaganda to support the regime. He doesn’t know that artists in Cuba, with whom he was supposedly having a cultural exchange, serve under the close supervision of the government, and don’t enjoy the freedom to defiantly name check the President, call out a few senators, threaten to buy a kilo of cocaine just to spite the government, or suggest that they will follow up their purchase with a shooting spree, as rapped about in "Open Letter." He doesn’t know that just because our country applies a different, some say hypocritical policy to China, it doesn’t make either regime any less oppressive, or any more acceptable. He doesn’t know that when people say “I’ve got to visit Cuba before it gets ruined,” I think to myself, “It’s already ruined. And by the way, ruined by what? freedom of speech? walls that don’t crumble? shoes? Do you mean ruin Cuba? Or ruin your fashionable vacation in Cuba?” He doesn’t know that when I really start to think about all this, I get so mad I can’t sleep. He doesn’t know that when he’s wearing that hat, smoking that coveted contraband cigar, he looks like a dupe. He doesn't know how much good he could be doing in Cuba, for Cubans, instead. Bearing witness, supporting artistic freedom, listening. He doesn't realize that as someone privileged to be born in a free society, one in which someone could come from nothing and become a celebrated music, sports, fashion, business and political mogul, it's not only his good luck to be able to bring to light the needs of the less fortunate, it's his obligation. But then, Jay-Z, I heard your new song, and paid attention to the lyrics. I heard you bragging about your “White House clearance.” I heard you talk about how much you enjoy Cuban cigars. And I heard you tell the President I voted for, “You don’t need this shit anyway, chill with me on the beach.” You reject the responsibility to speak up for an oppressed people, even while you take up your own cause with gusto. Then I figured it out. You actually know all of this stuff, you just don't care. That's not just being a bad citizen, or a bad neighbor. It's being a bad artist. It's Nihilism with a beat. -Phil Lord.

Obama's Approval Rating Now Underwater, Poll Shows

President Barack Obama's approval rating has dropped six points since he was reelected, according to an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released Thursday. Forty-seven percent of Americans approved of Obama's job performance, while 48 percent disapproved -- the first time his ratings have been underwater in an NBC/WSJ poll since last August. The numbers echo the results of most national surveys in showing Obama's post-election approval boost gradually disappearing. HuffPost Pollster's average, which combines all publicly available polling, still gives the president a narrowly positive rating.

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s Anniversary Trip to Cuba Under Investigation

BeyoncĂ© and Jay-Z looked crazy in love celebrating their fifth anniversary in Cuba last week, but not everyone is smitten over their decision to travel to the embargoed country. Two Republican members of Congress have asked the U.S. Treasury Department for an investigation into whether the musical power couple – and parents to 1-year-old daughter Blue Ivy – had the required government permission to travel to the communist country. In a letter written by U.S. Representatives Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart – who represent districts in South Florida, where there's a high Cuban-American population – they asked Office of Foreign Assets Control director Adam Szubin for information about the license the couple received, the purpose of their travel, and who approved the trip. "Despite the clear prohibition against tourism in Cuba, numerous press reports described the couple's trip as tourism, and the Castro regime touted it as such in its propaganda," the letter stated.

More liberal manipulation..."See, we're just like you!"

Lobbying for gun control in the United States often means proving how much you like firearms. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, whose state recently passed some of the strictest gun control measures in the country, often reminds people he is a hunter. Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who founded a gun control advocacy group after surviving a gunshot wound to the head, says she and her husband keep two guns in a safe at home. Vice President Joe Biden boasts that he owns two shotguns. And the White House recently released a photo of President Barack Obama skeet shooting at the Camp David presidential retreat, trying to silence skeptics of his claim in an interview that he has actually shot a gun. The message is obvious: They, too, are a part of America's gun culture. In a country where at least a third of households have firearms, it's hard to impose stricter arms rules without support from gun owners. That means reassuring Americans that nobody is going to take away the guns they have legally acquired. Gun rights groups scoffed at what they called clumsy and obvious attempts by Biden and Obama to ingratiate themselves with firearm owners even while trying to limit their rights. "It's transparent, cynical and hollow and gun owners see right through it," said Lawrence Keane, senior vice president of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, an association that represents gun manufacturers.

Obama and the libs will blame Republicans for this...forget blaming Obama fro allowing the debt to get this bad...oh, no...Obama blames everyone and takes no responsibility....just wait and see the new talking points!

President Obama hasn't formally proposed his "compromise" budget plan yet, but the White House can already see cracks forming among its trusted progressive coalition over cutbacks to cherished safety net programs. On Saturday, organized labor quickly made good on its promise to oppose a White House budget that includes cuts to Social Security and Medicare, with the AFL-CIO labor federation ripping the president's expected proposal with unusually tough language in an email blast to activists. The email (below) came with the subject heading, "Obama's really bad idea." "From all reports I’ve seen, President Obama is going to propose a budget plan next week that is unprecedented for a Democratic president," said the email from Damon Silvers, the AFL-CIO's policy director. "It will propose a cut to Social Security benefits for seniors, veterans and people with disabilities." "It is unconscionable to ask seniors, people with disabilities and veterans who are barely making it to be squeezed even tighter at a time when corporations and the wealthiest 2% are not paying their fair share of taxes, despite soaring profits."

Obama's new budget plan...gee, SOME of this seems like this is what libs have accused conservatives of trying to do over the last few decades!

The specifics are as follows: The budget would reduce the deficit by $1.8 trillion over ten years -- $600 billion of this reduction would come from revenue raisers, and $1.2 trillion would come from spending reductions and entitlement reforms;
It would change the benefit structure of Social Security (chained-CPI);

It would means test additional programs in Medicare; All told, it would include $400 billion in health care savings (or cuts);

It would cut $200 billion from other areas, identified by The New York Times as “farm subsidies, federal employee retirement programs, the Postal Services and the unemployment compensation system;”

It would pay for expanded access to pre-K (an Obama priority) by increasing the tobacco tax;

It would set limits on tax-preferred retirement accounts for the wealthy, prohibiting individuals from putting more than $3 million in IRAs and other tax-preferred retirement accounts;

And it would stop people from collecting full disability benefits and unemployment benefits that cover the same period of time.

Obama has a shape-shifting secret service agent...

Okay, this is a strange story...apparently one of Obama's secret service agents, is an alien...and I do not mean illegal...he is an actual shape-shifting alien from outer space...and there is video evidence to prove it...go to our video page and see for yourself...we will talk about it on today's show...call in and tell us what you think...

Michelle Obama calls herself a "busy single mother" in CBS interview...hmmm

Watch the video on our "video" page as Michelle calls herself a "busy single mother"...this cannot be just a mere slip of the tongue...many conspiracy theorists say she and Barack were never married and their relationship is a sham...no marriage license was produced when asked for a few years back...no one has seen it...a married woman would never refer to herself as single...that is just plain weird...another wonderful lie we are being spoon fed by the Obamas? Conspiracy theorists must be scrambling on this one!

Obama To Return 5 Percent Of His Salary In Solidarity With Furloughed Federal Workers...and people say conservatives are out of touch...20K is not even one person's salary...

Yeah...$20,000 will make a HUGE impact on reducing the deficit...what a boob! WASHINGTON -- Sharing a bit of budget pain, President Barack Obama will return 5 percent of his salary to the Treasury in a show of solidarity with federal workers smarting from government-wide spending cuts. Obama's decision grew out of a desire to share in the sacrifice that government employees are making, a White House official said Wednesday. Hundreds of thousands of workers could be forced to take unpaid leave – known as furloughs – if Congress does not reach an agreement soon to undo the cuts. The president is demonstrating that he will be paying a price, too, as the White House warns of dire economic consequences from the $85 billion in cuts – called a sequester – that started to hit federal programs last month after Congress failed to stop them. In the weeks since, the administration has faced repeated questions about how the White House itself will be affected. The cancellation of White House tours in particular has drawn mixed reactions. A 5 percent cut from the president's salary of $400,000 per year amounts to $20,000

Byron Pitts Calls CBS News Out Over Diversity...does he have a legitimate argument?

Byron Pitts has said that one of the biggest reasons he chose to leave CBS News for ABC News was diversity. Pitts will join ABC News, as an anchor and chief national correspondent, on April 15. He is leaving CBS News — where he was chief national correspondent on "CBS Evening News" and "60 Minutes" contributor — after more than a decade. In recent interviews, he praised ABC News' efforts to improve diversity, while criticizing CBS News over the issue. "I don't think any news organization is where it should be, but the people at ABC are at least talking the talk and making efforts to walk the walk," Pitts told Journal-isms. He told TV Newser that he was impressed that ABC News president Ben Sherwood brought the issue up. “It was encouraging to have a network executive talk to me, openly and with enthusiasm, about the importance of racial diversity,” Pitts said. “I never had that conversation at CBS.” He called CBS News out, saying that the network had fewer people of color on air than when he joined 15 years ago. CBS News spokesperson Sonya McNair told TV Newser that the network has "more than double" Pitts' estimate of seven journalists of color. In his new role at ABC News, he will host prime-time news specials, as well as fill in as news reader on “Good Morning America” and on weekend news. Pitts' departure from CBS News will leave "60 Minutes" with an all-white line-up.

Connecticut Gun Bill Signed Into Law By Gov. Dannel Malloy

WASHINGTON -- Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy (D) signed a sweeping new set of gun control laws on Thursday, less than 12 hours after the Connecticut state legislature approved the bills in a late-night session. In a signing ceremony at the state capitol, Malloy called the event profoundly moving, and said Connecticut had come together in a way that few places were able to do. "Our leaders in Washington are so divided," Malloy said, adding that "there's no excuse" for lawmakers in Washington to oppose expanded background checks. Connecticut's two Democratic senators, Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, both support expanded gun control. The bill requires background checks for nearly all private gun sales, and bans the sale of magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. It also expands the state's assault weapons ban to include scores of new gun models. These provisions will go into effect immediately, Malloy said, while others will be phased in. The bill also includes new registration requirements for those who already own high-capacity magazines, and creates the nation's first dangerous weapon offender registry. In a move that many legislators applauded Wednesday night, the bill allocates at least $15 million more for school safety and mental health monitoring programs.

James Carville Joins Hillary Clinton Super PAC...anyone but Obama...please!

James Carville, a longtime adviser to Bill and Hillary Clinton and a media commentator, has joined the Ready For Hillary PAC. The Washington Post first reported the news Thursday, and The Huffington Post confirmed it. In an email to be blasted out to the group's supporters later Thursday, Carville will say, "I’m not going to waste my time writing you about how great Hillary is or how formidable she’d be – you know it all already," according to the Post. "But it isn’t worth squat to have the fastest car at the racetrack if there ain’t any gas in the tank — and that’s why the work that Ready for Hillary PAC is doing is absolutely critical. We need to convert the hunger that’s out there for Hillary’s candidacy into a real grassroots organization."

Mc Donalds workers back on stroke in NYC.. What do you consider a proper "living wage" for fast food workers?

"Stephen Warner works part-time at a McDonald's in New York City, earning the legal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. He hasn't seen a pay bump since he started six months ago. Depending on how many shifts he gets, he says his take-home pay sometimes comes out to less than $100 for the week. Hoping for a living wage, the 27-year-old said he plans to protest his own employer on Thursday, and he believes that several of his coworkers will join him. "While I'm making $7.25, my money can't take me anywhere. The price of living is going up it seems every day," Warner, a Bronx resident, said in an interview Wednesday. "I appreciate the opportunity to work. But I want them to consider how much I make and ask [themselves] if they could live off of it." Warner has joined a rare fast-food labor campaign called Fast Food Forward. The union- and faith-backed effort drew national attention last November when it spearheaded strikes at several of New York City's fast-food restaurants, criticizing the likes of Wendy's, Taco Bell and Burger King for paying wages that workers struggle to live on. Warner's protest Thursday will be part of what organizers are billing as the campaign's second and larger wave."

Elmo being sued again...by fifth accuser.

The original voice of Elmo, Kevin Clash, is being sued by yet another man who says Clash solicited him for sex online when he was just 16 years old. Clash sent a limo to his residence to bring him to his apartment in NYC and sexual acts took place...I think...in any case, of course Clash is responsible since he was the adult, but how much responsibility should be placed on the alleged victim? He was 16, after all. He was online "talking" to Clash and agreed to come to his home...a complete stranger...is he responsible for any of this? Check out the video page to see the new voice of Elmo...what do you think?

Post Birth Abortions...Florida

TOday we talked about a woman who got in front of politicians on behalf of planned parenthood and said if a baby is born due to a "botched abortion" and is alive, it should be up to the physician (she actually did not use that term) and the mother to decide what to do with that live baby...if they wanted to not offer the baby help to sustain life, that was okay with her and the right thing to do...go to our "video" page and see for yourself...one politician actually mentioned the idea to her that the baby was the actual patient...she was at a loss for words...
